Now that the temperatures fall below freezing level, a small portion of my garden has been moved indoors.
I have an avocado tree started from the pit of an avocado that we enjoyed sometime ago. I also grow rose geraniums, a date palm from an "accidental" pit in a bag of dates, and a few pink impatiens rescued from the cold. I have one basil plant, a result from trying to establish a patch of basil this past summer; from a whole bag of seeds, only one seed germinated!
This little island of green in my living room is the only connection to the sanity the garden brings to me.
We are mom and dad, who in addition to being parents, do research on healthy lifestyle and cancer. We would like to achieve a healthy, balanced and meaningful life. In our pursuit, we sift the healthy from the unhealthy, the simple from the complicated advice. The blog also includes random musings on topics other than health and parenting.
