Track your health the same way you track your wealth

Continuing my topic from yesterday, on how to be healthy in order to achieve and enjoy early retirement, I would like to offer a few more links that might be good for your physical wellbeing.

Diet trackers

Surprisingly, USDA offers some tools for individual dietary assessment. Try their Healthy Body Calculator.

Here is also a recipe analyzer that will be handy when you start reinventing your diet.

As a bonus, these calculators and advice are NOT based upon the latest (2015) dietary guidelines (qualified by Dr. David Katz as a national embarrassment, and a willful sacrifice of public health on the altar of profit for well-organized special interests).

Symptom checker

I do not recommend anyone to self-diagnose; however, there is an online tool that allows even doctors to be assisted with the diagnosis by plugging in the patient's symptoms. If you are in dire straits, try this British site. There is also a U.S. symptom checker, but I find it a bit cumbersome to use.

Remember, tracking your health should not feed your paranoia. Watch your diet, do moderate physical activity, and you will postpone the dreaded visit to the doctor. Health freedom is as important as financial freedom.
